Yeah, SO3 is pretty good. The battle system is fun and very Tales like (though there are some things Tales still does better but there are things where SO3 is good at it, especially comparing it to Tales at the time when SO3 was out), most characters are solid (not really a fan of Peppita or Sophia...), the music is pretty good though not Sakuraba's best (but SO3 does have a couple great tracks), and the story isn't amazing but I think it's sold and the plot twist wasn't even that bad and I don't understand the people who hate the game because of it...

Well, considering where Tri ace originated from, it's not much of a surprise that it's like the Tales series. I actually enjoyed SO3 more than SO4. Maybe that's because I actually enjoyed some of the characters in SO3 (Cliff, Maria, Albel, Nel). The story was alright until the plot twist that was forced, and battle system that was sort of gimped with the whole "MP Death" aspect.
As for Namco re-releasing some of their old titles, that would probably be a smart move on their part.
Sadly, Namco isn't really known for making smart decisions.
