Talking about the no-sword run here would have been fine =) it's still retro gaming. In terms of limiting yourself in Zelda games though, my favorite thing to do is the 3-heart challenge in OoT. I think it's the only Zelda where you don't have to pick up ANY heart containers (I've tried in others). Couple of rules though, for one, don't get the defense thing near the end, that's cheating =P. Then there's the easy 3-heart challenge where you use fairies, or the hard where you don't use any faeries. Best I've done was go through the whole game never having more than 1 fairy on me, I've been meaning to go back and play it again and do a no-fairy 3-heart challenge =)

Seriously though, I'll have to check the other parts of the trilogy out sometime.

Haha and try out Battletoads again sometime, it's not NEARLY as hard as I remembered it to be.

Well, I didn't want it to seem like one game was starting to take over the thread. But I'll give that a shot my next time through the game. The hardest challenge I did was old one on the back of the Nintendo Power trading cards for Link to the Past. I remember the details well: 13 hearts (bare minimum, no HC from the sanctuary), green armor, level 3 sword, regular magic level (meaning no half-MP consumption guy), and no bottles. Given that a hit from Ganon took 6 hearts, I remember that being quite tough to do...

The Ocarina of Time 3 heart challenge is VERY hard, since the shadow temple boss (bongo bongo or something?) can one shot you easily, he's the hardest to dodge 100%. He was the reason I even needed one fairy. Ganon, Dark Link, EASY, but Bongo Bongo can mess me up pretty easily.
