these figures are pretty out of date don't you think. back when this was written move was going to be released early 2010, now it's fall 2010. i guess what i'm trying to say is, "what??"

I do not think they are that out of date:

for example:

think about this is If:

Sony plans on 4-5 million ,you think thay have to have time to ramp up production.

that figure is most likely going to be start, because they will have Playstation move sold in bundle's:

One bundle already mention on Giant Bomb video:

the PS3 system+ a regular DS3 and a playstation move controller and camera /+ a game as one of their bundle's

also they are going to have

playstation move controller /w camera and also a game

an

a playstation move controller +a game as another bundle

so if their goal is the same just a new release timetable.

I think the 4-5 million on release is their goal.

which is quite a bit of controller's

this:

Motion Controller

  • Spring 2010 launch (March in JP)
  • No bundle/pricing details yet, should come Sept 1
  • Plan on selling 4-5MM units WW
  • SCEA agreed to provide a list of Sega IP that would work well with the motion controller, Virtua Tennis was an example
  • Motion Controller support allows easy way to differentiate PS3 SKU
  • Other differentiation opportunities include PSP/PS3 interoperability – think of features that would make users want to buy both PS3 and PSP SKUs.

I think this is still one of the goal's just the timetable has changed.

Why i think this has some Merit, is Sony is treating the playstation Move as not an ADD on platform, they are treating it as they Would the DS3 as a full supported part of the playstation 3 core Experience. So they may have section's of their own developer's that just specialize in creating playstation move game's.
