Most things they showed at GDC clearly were "Wii knockoffs", but not all of them. As far as I know the "augmented reality" games like Move Party or Eye Pet can't be done with the Wii. I mean, I totally understand if you think that concept isn't different enough and/or unappealing, but that doesn't mean you should talk as if it didn't exist. |
I've seen EyePet and I'm not going to say it's bad but it's definately not something that should conveince anyone to buy a Move. As for Move Party, I don't know what that is.

So it's archery, table tennis, a rail shooter, and a gladiator game? Yeah, those are still pretty much Wii games with an HD skin. It's a mini-game collection. Woohoo? Haven't Sony fanboys been calling minigame collections and shovelware the same thing for the past four years?
I'm not trying to hate on the Move but so far it's just a bunch of Wii knockoff games. Those aren't going to make me and many other people buy a Move. If this were 2007 I would totally buy into it but Sony is very late to the party and I've already gotten over motion controls for the sake of motion controls.
Until they show me something I haven't already played on the Wii I don't really see a reason to bother.
And don't get me wrong, not every game needs to be some new concept I've never seen before, but just like with a console I need some reason to buy into it. If I'm going to spend $100+ I need something more than Wii knockoffs.
Sony is advertising the Move as something that's true 1:1 and so much better than the Wii, show me that. That's all I'm asking. So far all the Move is showing me is that bigger isn't always better.
