I actually streamlined into a much faster process, without the need for any Auto-Protect items. Party required: Fang, Lightning and Vanille/Hope. Just make sure your party has a General Belt * or a Champion Belt * to have a similar Protect effect.
Start with RAV/RAV/MED and stagger the left leg. It's imperative that you stagger the left first, as the AI will auto target the Right leg after you've defeated it, instead of the Adamantoise itself.
After Staggering the leg, switch to COM/MED/MED and Highwind the leg. Make sure to Highwind it when it's on the ground and not up preparing for a stomp, this is so essential. Highwind does double damage if the target is on the ground, if it's on the air it only does one hit, which will not destroy the leg.
Repeat the process for the other leg, you won't have to worry about targetting it, because of what I said.
When you destroyed the second leg, switch immediatly to SYN/SAB/SAB. This will allow you to cast Haste/Bravera/Faithra while Lightning and Vanille guarantee that Deshell, Deprotect and Imperil get stuck on Adamantoise. When you're finished casting the three effects to your party, Adamantoise will have all three debuffs.
Switch to RAV/RAV/RAV, stagger and bring chain up to 700 % and switch to COM/COM/RAV (you don't need 900 since Vanille's/Hope's spells bring up the chain by 40% for each hit, you can use that time to wail at him with Fang and Lightning, which will do over 100K each, instead of 40K each when they're RAV/RAV/RAV.
This strategy defeats even the 5M Adamantoises in 1:30.
