I wonder what he means by over 240 stars. I see three possibilities:

1. There is really 120 stars, but you can play as either Mario or Luigi (like the first Galaxy)

2. Instead of two challenge comet per galaxy (purple comet + one random comet), they have several challenge comets per level: assuming 15 galaxies with 4 stars (2 normal, 1 boss battle, and 1 hidden) and then give each level three challenge comets (the first game had several: enemy speed up, one hit, time limit, cosmic race, and purple coins) that would equal to 240 stars (the amount of comets per level and the number of levels could change, but you get the idea-- the comet levels are significantly increased).

Actually, if there were 70 'normal' levels that would also explain why you need to get 70 stars to beat the game (then you could have 2 comets per level and fill the rest out with something else, say the green stars from the first game).

3. There are actually 240 unique levels.

I don't think #3 is possible, but I think something like #2 is possible-- and what I hope is being implied. While I won't be upset if it is possibility 1, I will be slightly disappointed.
