Icyedge said: Easy example here for people using the total sales number to justify a comeback: If a hockey team begin winning in a streak all year long. But the same hockey team perform badly for the last 10 years. Its only before those 10 years that they were good. Can we say its a comeback even if they have not more than the total win of the other teams?
Hell yes thats what we would say. They were good, then bad, then very good again. Thats exactly what we call a comeback whatever the total numbers of win or sales. |
Or look at the other side of it. A basketball game is going on:
Team A has 57 points. Team B has 17. The game has only two periods left. It's looking like Team A has the game in the bag. However, in the last two periods Team B scores 60 points, while Team A scores 10. Obviously, Team B goes on to win the game.

Yep also a good example of a comeback. In our case tho, theres no need to pass the total number. Its not a competition where only the 1st will win.
