I think you should have called him on his fact checking. Business communication is valueless if your facts aren't right. You'd be better off not talking at all.
Of course, anyone listening to the talk would have known some of his 'facts' were either opinions out outright bunk. Why would people be afraid to lose cartridges but not CDs? Cartridges are bigger, much more durable, etc. If you were worried about media, you'd want cartridges.
