I think it is fair to say it must of been. I am not so sure if we should consider this a bad thing and I am also pretty sure you could argue the same for the 360 and Natal.
We may of had other innovative motion tech in the past but Wii put it on the map and I think we all draw our motion understanding from them so their influence is massive in this sector.
They are now about to be overtaken by both Sony and Microsoft in relation to technologies used but the influence wielded does not diminish.
Oh and by the way the Wii is a fad (I did actually believe that though).
