Gah. I HATE emo, whiny little bitches in games. And that's what most of the OP pictures consist of.
Plus, their outfits are friggin' silly. Give me Master Chief any day of the week. He's seven feet tall, weighs like 600 lbs., and is genetically engineered to KICK ASS. It doesn't get any better than that. He's not much of a conversationalist but I won't hold that against him. No one is perfect.
Truth be told, the most interesting characters lie somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. The whiny, emo-riddled boys in the typical JRPG are only the yin to Master Chief/Marcus Fenix's yang (word pun competely intended). They're ALL horribly one dimensional, cliched characters.
Jackie from The Darkness is better than all of them combined and he's not even a great character, just a decent one.
