Am I the only one who noticed that the graphics and animations in this video look way short of what we saw earlier in the year?
When I first saw the game footage, it blew me away. The bump mapping and lighting were amazing. Now, it's looking like a pretty standard affair (graphics-wise).
As for the game itself, I think it's a bit confusing. From what we know right now, there isn't a storyline or plot. There will be some pre-made levels to play through, but the rest is left up to user-created content. So, without a plot and end goal, I can't see many "standard" gamers dying to play it. On the flip side, creating levels seems a little too "hardcore" for the casual gamers (granted, they may enjoy downloading random user levels to try out [if they're connected to the internet]).
This game seems like it's only going to be popular with people who have the time and creativity to create some epic levels. That includes college students and....well, college students.
Then again, it could be the "second coming" of video games. We'll see.
