The 3D mentioned in the OP is already available on the DSi, the iPhone, and the PSP (but the PSP needs an add-on to do it). But it's not real 3D. It's a trick that uses either the camera or the accelerometer.
The 3DS is an upgrade from the DSi, so it won't use the same 3D. It will be real 3D without the glasses.
So far... that is ALL we know.
