I don't know if I ever dug myself in such a deep hole in a FF game that I couldn't get myself out of. The only time I've ever done something like that was Saga Frontier which was a save point game.
And even with the healing thing, doesn't FFXIII auto heal you after battles?
Also, that's good to hear that God of War 3 allows you to start the game from your last checkpoint. That has been one of my gripes about the first two games I'm glad they fixed.
