I couldnt agree more. Honestly, companies like Samsung and Panasonic are screwing the pooch when it comes to 3d with all of these exclusives arrangements. The best thing about this announcment is that if nintendo is embracing it then it bodes well for 3d entertainment in general which is good for all of us.
