I don't actually think either game will have much of a noticeable impact on hardware. If someone is such a diehard fan of Gran Turismo then they most likely already have a PS3 and have been playing GT5P for a few years now.
With such healthy, respectable libraries as both consoles have the primary reasons people buy a new console at this stage in the gen are cost and the accumulated library, not a single game that they've been waiting for.
Of course both will sell shitloads of copies, nobodies debtaing that...
