Although I don't understand the demographic part, seems to be a very safe response to the matter. Different from Sony's usually very aggressive PR. Obviously pointing out their involvement with 3D on the PS3, but I think this is rather suggestive. First, could suggest they just haven't really thought about 3D on portables. Or it could suggest that maybe they aren't really planning a new PSP in short term.

I'd say sony is planning on releasing a 3D portable, thus they didn't want to shoot the idea down but at the same time not give nintendo too much credit.
