There was a rumor in 2007 that Sony is going to buy Rockstar (or Take-Two?)

Did the rumor just die? did Sony or Rockstar confirmed there were talks about that? I just find it very interesting... Rockstar always had a strong relationship with Sony
I wonder if it can happen one day
