It's obvious this has been 'inspired' by the wiimote but I do not think it was a copy. I think the OP is putting words in the mouth of people by not giving the right options.

For example, you could say that the wiimote has motion technology that originates from the playstation [MDvs]. Hence, the wiimote copied the [MDvs] by the op's opinion. If so, then Squilliam is asserting that Nintendo copied Sony?

For my own opinion, I think that the wiimote and move are very very different. The only thing that they have in common is the fact that they both resemble the handle of a racket (Tennis, Badminton etc.).
