You're saying the combat is easy, and in the story mode, it kinda is. But I'm doing the challenges now, and they have an evil touch. The battles are more about situational awareness and tactics than anything else, and that makes it rather difficult when lots of things happen at once. Taking out enemies running for gun cabinets isn't all that difficult, but doing so while dodging titans, stun gunners and knifemen gets to be a lot more tricky, especially if you are going for the variety bonus. But I never really got the hang of the combat system in God of War. Or maybe I did, but the game didn't make me feel as in control as I wanted. I play as the god of war, and I have difficulty taking out tiny little wimps? Something in the controls just didn't work for me. Kratos is awesomely cool, but controlling him isn't. I think I played God of War for about 2 hours, and God of War 2 for about 3 hours, and after that I've felt no urge to return to them. So really, what I want to know is, why do you like the battle system in God of War so much? What's the pull, apart from the brutalities? |
i have the plat in batman and the only challenge that was tough was shock and awe extreme... but that was because of the time limit...
anyway... the god of war combat system in the previous was pretty good... it was more about creating distance than being in the center of it all... that was pretty fun... trying to find the right spacing to perform the more powerful moves...
in the new one... it is a mix.. you can try and create the distance but you can also go in and out and mix things up.. the switching of the weapons with ease makes it even more enjoyable as you try and find the right weapon switch at each stage (like going up with an enemy, while coming dowing... being surrounded... and trying to isolate a strong enemy)
i think batman was fun to start... but it became very plain and dull once the 5 hit to grab and 2 hit to continue grabbing upgrade thingy happened.
