If the investigator is very limited this game, then I agree with your advice. But I don't see why we can't provide them with as much material to work with as possible, especially in the event that they are not limited or do have a lot of uses or do have a strong suspect already. I shouldn't need to point out the obvious that nobody is guaranteed to make it alive to night 3 or 4 - if the game even lasts that long. We simply need to have faith in our investigator to make the best choices based on what they know, and not deny them material to investigate.

Now, are you a zombie?

Agreed, but I don't like encouraging someone to make a stupid decision. Also, the game should have 3 nights minimum where skills will be important. (9 people, 2 down per night) However, I did mistake that the game would last 4 nights as the last few games I've been in have had +20 people.

If anything, the insistance on flushing out a lie detector or investigative role seems scummy to me. Yes, I still have my big game mentality on, but so be it.

I'm not sure I like this insinuation. Wanting to provide any investigative role with as much info to work with as possible does not equal wanting the investigate role to make themselves known at the earliest opportunity.
