i'm not against researching at all , but why not implement the new technology on the first natal ? since its not finished yet why not?
that only means that they want people to buy both versions, i'd understand if Nintendo did it , Wii mote was good, then after a couple of years Wii Motion plus, that upgrades one what the consumer already have.

If you keep delaying to add new extras you end up like GT5 stuck in perpetual development.  Sometimes its better to get a product to the customer and see what they ACTUALLY think in the wild then refine your next version.  All the testing in the world doesn't mean anything until it reaches customers in real world terms.

Would I have rather waited an extra year to play the drums on Rock Band while they added cymbal support, nope.  Would I like to have waited 2 years for motion plus on the Wii, nope.  In fact would I rather have waited for any hardware peripheral I've bought this generation, nope.

oh we all know what happens when you rush a product, GT5 may be taking forever, but it will be nothing short of a masterpiece when it finally arrives, you only have to look at Forza 3 for an example of how nothing good comes from rushing products, this includes games and it especially includes hardware.

Finally the engine they have developed for GT5 will be reused, we all remember that right, the next GT on PS will take alot less time to develop.

Take your pick but the overall status of universally acclaimed is pretty clear the game is anything but "nothing good", it would seem you know very little about Forza 3 other than what you read from GT fanboys.  Natal isn't being rushed in the slightest, its just they haven't needed to show their big guns unlike Sony who had to release some Move news after the cringe worthy unveiling last year at E3 which was obvious to everyone they were lying about how far in dvelopment it was (Spring 2010, I think not).  Natal is cruising in low gear with the hype and interest they generated, even after GDC the hype level for MOve outside of gaming internet forums is at absolute zero.

Finally we have no idea how long this generation is going to last and if they don't get GT5 out this year then you can pretty much say goodbye to GT6 appearing on the PS3.  That is of course unless you want GT6 to just be milking sales from the franchise.

@severance - We have no idea what they're researching, it could be more software than hardware in terms of features.  It could be integration of Natal processing hardware in the next generation of consoles.  It could just in fact be more advanced cameras which given the extra power required to run will need a new console.  The point is that Natal this generation could be seen as a introduction to controller free gaming in a similar way Nintendo have used the original Wiimote before motion plus was released.

sorry i will agree to disagree I have proof in my thread that ps move has been in development pre 2004, an actual video footage of the original idea was shown, also no I don't listen to GT fans, I played on forza 3, and I was not impressed t be honest I think it's overated by some reviewer's

Edit: Your not alone also, I lost count of how many times a Ps Move thread go invaded by non Ps Fans, I just like to comment on hardware like this because I'm inrested in the future of Natal, but not as it is right now, as I have said countless times it needs more development before they release it.

it's the future of handheld
