Dude, I managed to get to where I am starting where you started as well. Stop whining. I'm using the M249 SAW which is the SECOND gun you get as a medic. The AKS-74U is a good gun, but has a lot of recoil in comparison to other SMGs, making it closer to an assault rifle.
The starting weps don't suck so bad, because I used them in the beginning as well and got beyond rank 4. If you really have a problem with the guns, just kill a higher level's and steal theirs.
There are so many fucking ways to kill people in this game. Play in a tank and get the non-class specific guns if it's so bad.
Stop engaging people head on like it's CoD and flank them for god's sake. Weapon stats don't mean shit if you're getting shot from behind by someone.

I honestly don't think I would have managed to get the knife gold medal if I didn't flank and go around quietly. I also managed to get out of the bad guns by getting the non-class specific shot guns, which also require plenty of flanking to use. The whole levelling system is just flawed, gimme all the guns and leave the pins, if people want to get all pins they will try all the guns anywho, no point of having both systems really.

The pins and patches are nice because they give incentive to have people go for M-COMs (Like I'm doing, need 50ish more), do support role, etc.
If you're flanking everyone and getting so many kills, why are you complaining about the guns? Why are you still at rank 4? You level up very fast in this game.

No you really really don't level up fast. I have been at about 1k points per game and I am still rank 4, just hit half way to 6 cause the gold medal in knifing gave me 5000 points.

You only get 1k points per game? You need to get more pins as they give you many points at the end of the game in addition to your combat score (see? Now you have an incentive to obtain the pins). Make sure you do your support roles and throw those medkits, ammo boxes, sensors, etc. You get 80 points for reviving a squad mate, and a good 100-200 points for getting 4 defibulators with the pin.

That's why I said I agreed with you on that part, but once you get that (very early on) you should be leveling up like crack.
