Some things you don't do over a public forum and one of them is talk about relationship troubles. I'm actually amazed by the reaction you got here and I think it really really shows the quality of the community that there haven't been any personal attacks on you or anything.
Gl with your GF everything should sort itself out but you really should tell your mate, he will just be more pissed if he doesnt hear it from you.
