Just like NPD delivers charts for the US, GfK often does the same for Europe. With shipment numbers and financial statement all around, it can be done to tune into those markets. It's a difficult market, but it's getting there. Not even VGC claims to be 100% accurate.
And we've read statements like yours about a billion times...
