@OP

I have PS1 PS2 and PSP. so i can mostly compare with these.

for Nintendo, I have to say that I was brought up with these, so I do have a particular fondness for them, for their humor, for their way of thinking, for their gameplay descisions. I would rate most Mario, zelda, metroid, punch out and a few other N game above any other.

Now for the other games, I haven't really been able to enjoy much first part sony games, what made the strengh of the system in the past was 3rd party support. I still do have a fondness for GoW, and grand tourismo, but although these games are the best in their segment, there are very worthy altrenatives, something that is not so for N games. The only game that particularly interests me in the PS3 catalog would be Uncharted, the other I just see as either uninteresting or just slightly above alternatives.

For MS games, well I do like halo... but I play on PC and FPS are just meh to me on consoles... My attraction for the green brand was mostly multiplats and the price. I do like the exclusives like ME, fable and LO.
The only game in the MS exclusivity that I crave is gears. (strangely I have no problem playing a slow TPS with a controler)

So in all, i'd put MS and sony about on par for quality, but I still believe that the minds at Nintendo are the only ones that know how to make fun games, not just by luck but by planning for it.

You should rephrase that, it basically discredits your entire post. What I hear you saying is that Nintendo is the only company capable of creating fun games on purpose, and games like LittleBigPlanet, PixelJunk Monsters, SingStar and Buzz are only fun by accident.

You mean my opinion being contrary to other's is discrediting my post?

I do think companies like blizzard or valve are capable of doing it too.

This thread is about first party however, and for me, the only company that can say "let's make a fun game" and actually make it 100% of the time is N.

The others think more like "what will sell to mature audience?" "oh yeah, let's have kratos rip a head off!" or "let's put 1000 cars, even though it'll delay the game for 6 years and people will barely ever use half of them, the fact that we have 1000 and others don't will make us sell more". It's not the correct mindset and as was proven this gen, what really sells anyways is in fact the funfactor.
