Yes, the have accelerometers. They borrowed the Idea so they could show angles. Otherwise the PSmove wouldn't allow you to tilt your sword for example.
Though, i'm not sure how you'd hold it like mario kart wii... what with the giant ball on one end.

I have. Wasn't a fan. The only fun part was that I could completly destroy my friend opon picking up the control, even though he owned the game, loved it... and kept practicing really hard in an attempt to beat me after I destroyed him the first time.
