For me..

Nintendo havent done any major leaps when it comes to gameplay and technical achievements in games. The Wii Fit, Wii Sports are a great way to showcase the motion controller of the Wii, but the games themselves dont really take any major leaps from last gen. Nintendo however do have huge success with its first party games. But Studio-wise they dont really take any risks and/or bring anything new to the table besides the whole motion controller aspects, which i feel is more hardware based rather than a Studio choice.

Microsoft has very few 1st party studios and games to even be up there with Nintendo and Sony this gen. Even if the few they have are great and the games have good sales and are quality titles, Microsoft just dosnt stack enough quality first party titles to be a contender.

Sony has taken alot of leaps this gen with innovations with LPB (the studio was not 1st party at the time of release) and its Play, Creat, Share. MAG with 256 players online. Naughty Dog with probably the most critically acclaimed game to date. Heavy Rain (the studio was not 1st party at the time of release) with innovation in storytelling and interactive entertainment. And we have GT5 and GOW3 on its way which both seem to take leaps in different fields of gaming.

So i feel i get more "new experiences" with SONY than any of the others. Even though Nintendo probably stack alot more "new ips", the constant Mario kart, world, party etc "spin offs" just dont feel as fresh as a completly new story and character like Nathan Drake, Cole and Sack Boy.
