Need help with connecting my hdtv as my monitor

The best cards don't have hdmi, they have dvi usually. I also don't quite get your question. Do you want to have one screen just show your PC and the other your TV or both show the same thing or what exactly?

I just want to not have to switch between the analog and digital settings on my grahics card every time I want to watch a movie on the internet through my tv....I just want to be able to switch the source on my tv and have my computer output on my tv ( and like i said without having to switch between the analog to digital setting on my computer)

Have you tried setting your PC as a dual screen where your TV is the 2nd screen. If you do it as mirrored it should show whatever is on the 2nd screen, the TV int his case, as what is on the monitor.
