7200rps hasn't been a prolem for me. It's quiter than my original 80gb drive.
As some people said though, there might be a higher risk due to it getting warmer.
I'm gonna say this:
Don't get a 500gb drive.
I had two of them and even though they worked they had slight hiccups with some games.
Same with a friend of mine.
Get a 320gb one instead.
