The scorpio didn't work so well with my 80gb ps3, though it was a 500gb one.
Then I tried a 500gb from Samsung which worked better than the scorpio but stil not perfect.

So, finally I went with the Seagate Momentus 320gb 7200rps 16mb cache which works like a charm.

7200rps???i taught the ps3 can only do 5400rps?

The phat can do 7200rps (I know since I'm using one), though load times are only getting minimally faster.

Dunno about the slim.

cool,i have the phat so i might splash out on a 7200rpm hard drive, cheers.

7200 rpm HDD create more heat, just a warning. Load speeds are marginally faster, so it's questionable whether the extra heat is worth saving 2 or 3 seconds on load times.

Heh, I'm still using my 40 GB HDD on my PS3, I haven't gotten around to updating yet. I can't really install PS3 game data to the HDD for faster load times, but I manage.
