And for those after CP/ Traps etc you can farm Adamantortoise quite easily when you have Stage 9 Crystarium. Watch out though because when you accept mission 64 they all get replaced by for Long Gui's etc except for the one on Eden.
With a Connoisseur Catalog and Collector Catalog I think the drop ratio is 37% for Platinum ignot (sells for 150,000 gil) and 10% for Trapez (used for crafting Ultimate weapons). You also recieve 40,000 CP.
Have Vanille as the Party leader as a SAB with a Belladonna wand (better as Ultimate or second form) for increased chance in debuffs, have Hope or Sazh as a SYN and Fang as a SAB.
As soon as the fight begins have Vanille cast summon and it will take out the toise's front legs. Imediately go into Gesalt (Square or X) mode and then end it with the final attack (Triangle or Y). As soon as your back to normal fighting spam Death with Vanille over and over while Fang debuffs the Toise and Hope/Sazh buffs you (Vanille).
Once you have the Haste and Faith effect on Vanille Paradigrim shift so Hope/Sazh is now set to Ravager. Keep spamming Death while Hope/Sazh builds up the chain bar and while Fang debuffs and you should kill him before the Toise rises to his feet. It sometimes doesn't work but this is the most efficient method that I know off.
Excellent way to make money and CP before the end of the game. The only downside to this method is you need to refill TP to 3 again so you can summon. You need to summon to take out the Toise's front legs to prevent him from attacking you.
