| flowjo said: how is 35 gigs on a bluray sacrificing anything. in no way can i say that kz2 will match crysis2 on pc but as far as the console versions go im positive sonys first party devs will beat out anything cryengine 3 is pumping out in multiplatform or 360 exclusive . many of you are stating killzone2 uses tricks and has sloppy textures ..?? please you never even played the game cause your fanboy goggles are blinded by unreal3, if you did play the game and witnessed it in hd you could easily say its in the top 5 for best looking game on any platform same goes with uncharted2 and gow3, kz2 ground textures, wall textures ,lighting particle effects, character models and motion is some of the most top notch stuff out there and kz3 will look even better. ive seen the gdc crysis 2 clips and it does not look any better than kz2 , the particle effects are pretty much identical to what killzone 2 is doing and the textures are actually worse then killzone 2, crysis 2 will remain graphics king only on high end pcs and sonys exclusives are a very close second , its the truth sorry. oh and the crysis 2 clips in the gdc demo where they showed the pc 360 ps3 , the pc beat them both out by far but ps3 was marginally better than 360s , it looked less washed out and the detail and lighting overall was better, again its the truth sorry |
You accuse people of wearing fanboy goggles and then start talking about Crysis 2 on the 360?
I hate to be the one to break it to you but the 360 ISN'T EVEN IN THIS CONVERSATION.
And /facepalm at anyone who brings up Blu-Ray as a selling point for the PS3's power. The Blu-Ray player on the PS3 reads at a similar speed to the 360's DVD drive and the optical disc is FAR AND AWAY the slowest method of transferring information on either the 360 or PS3.
Incredibly slow read time + massive file size = a performance DOWNGRADE.
Which is why the PS3 still uses several compression methods to run a game, just like the 360 does. It's necessary unless those files are off-loaded to the HDD, which is several times faster than any optical drive.
