I think it's an interesting idea. If Apple ever sees an opening, I think they'll be the next company to jump into the games market, both handheld and home console.
As Nintendo is basically "the Apple of gaming," it's likely that Apple would enter with a very similar strategy and go after the same audience. Maybe that's not such a bad thing though, as Nintendo is going pretty much completely unchallenged right now in their corner of the market...
Maybe there's room for Apple.
