If it's older than that, I doubt he was the first owner, and something as simple as a door handle sounds like it was much more an owner-related issue than any design flaw (i.e. the first owner's kid thrashing the door handle to pieces getting in and out of the car). |
Well that would explain that one incident, but definitely doesn't explain the amount of Zs my mechanic has seen. Plural of anecdote is data.
