no. not at all but maybe in the future
not until they create a quality piece of hardware that lasts at least 95% of gamers the whole generation(at least 5 year) like every other console. gamers should not have to buy 2 or more of the same console nor have to go through the repair hassle.
their first console was a failure and they didn't profit. any other company would have been finished after that. usually to stay in the gaming business your first console has to be a success.
and finally not until they actually can compete in the japanese market. even though its the smallest market I feel if they could convince the japanese to buy their console then thats a huge victory in itself in terms of microsoft's establishment...but idk because the japanese seem to hate and not trust american products. maybe ditch the japanese market next console cycle?
oh and also to point out, they need more first party games. their variety is halo(great game), fable(also great game) and terrible games by rare except for perfect dark n64 remake
