What games are inclunding these figures? Because VGC usually make the mistake to include Wiisport or Wiiplay for the Wii, which of course have no meaning in terms of tie ratio. I won't talk for all europe, but in France, I can say this : the PS3 is indeed doing very well, especially during this Xmas but 1- X360 owners do buy More games. Not as much as in the US, but still more than PS3 owners. 2- Uncharted result might not been as high as it could be because Sony did a mistake : the game was only released the 5th of december, which is a bit late, and the rates weren't all as high as in the US. |
Actually, you're quite wrong: Wii Sports and Wii play do have very real meaning in terms of tie ratio. So that point is simply wrong.
More importantly, however, even if they were moot, these totals include bundled games for the PS3 (motorstorm and ratchet in the US) and in the EU (Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm and Resistance were ALL bundled with everything but the 40 GB model).
Are you suggesting that the Wii has a lower attach ratio than the PS3? Overall, the Wii's attach ratio is actually higher, according to Media Create / NPD / VGChartz. I was just showing it isn't MUCH of a difference, and that the difference is lower, not higher. In other words, I was defending the PS3, but apparently you feel that it's not okay unless I admit the Wii is the total loser and the PS3 wins, which it doesn't, as the Wii is both selling more hardware, more software, and has a better attach ratio, all at once.
If you want me to defend the Wii, THAT is easy to do. It clobbers the PS3 in every concievable sales category. But again, I wasn't trying to attack the PS3; I wanted to show that despite its comparatively low status, its software sales are respectable.
The numbers I've taken are VGChartz estimates for last week's WW software sales.
