You have probably never seen how much ram windows uses then.

It's not 1.75 gigs, which is the difference between a PS3 and a modest gaming computer.


Streaming tech and good level design make a big difference to the texture resolutions on the consoles.

Anything that is available on consoles is available on PC... with loads more power, to boot.

so what? the point was RAM isn't the biggest issue for the graphics on consoles these days. Texture res is limited by the texture units and the lack of processing speed needed to allot more time to the texture unit functions. Lets not forget streaming is easier done on a console. PCs have multiple OS, APIs, GPUs, CPUs, HDDs, and different amounts of different speed RAM to deal with.
