I have a geforce 2, it don't runs smothly in it without some hardwork... and it won't run with loads of stuffs enabled. my advise: It don't worth to use compiz without at least a gf4, or a gf5200.
My brother have a athlon 2500+, 512MiB ram and a geforce5200, it runs completely smoth, and almost don't use processor power (the graphic calculations are made using the VGA).
before I enter here I thought that it was a screenshot topic, so lemme show you mine desktop:
without compiz, but I just love XFCE: simple and usefull.
