They are getting there, but globally, they are not there yet. Sony has distribution chains all around hte world for electronics, and while M$ has them for it's software, hardware is a different beast, and comparatively, Xbox original just lacked that. In NA, I think it'safe to say that M$ has surpassed Sony. On the development side, Sony still leads by a country mile, and I'm not really seeing M$ getting their...it's certianly not from a lack of potential AAA IP, since M$ has a buttload of them, but from a lack of development teams. It makes little sense to me how the biggest software company can't get 2-3 development shops up and running. Imho, Hire 150 developers, split them into 3 teams under MGS, and call them whatever funky names you want, and get them working on M$ owned IP...oh...say like BRUTE FORCE or FREELANCER!
