Agreed with this.
I also think Nintendo will steal handheld MH3 exclusively for DS2. Should be a HUGE upset...

That would be pretty big bomb but I don't think it will happen. Sony just can't afford to lose MHP3 to new DS. MHP series has pretty much defined PSP in Japan. I think Sony is willing to pay for exclulsivity and Nintendo doesn't usually buy third party exclusivitys because they don't need to. They have so big first party titles.

Capcom moved MH3 from the PS3 just fine. Sony let FF XIII be multiplat. Don't see the difference and although Nintendo doesn't totally moneyhat games because they tend to help out with the games they have deals with. They might still put MHP3 on PSP if the DS2 doesn't come out anytime soon, but seeing the series move on to the DS2 (and also the Wii 2) wouldn't be surprising.

MH3 is nowhere as important title as MHP3 will be. Just compare sales between MH3 and MHP2G and you should see the difference.. Also you must notice that even for XIII Sony secured Japan exclusivity. In the west it is not anywhere as important game for PS3 as MHP3 will be for PSP2 in Japan so it wasn't that big surprise that FF went multiplat. They just needed FF to push hardware sales in Japan so they secured Japan exclusivity as they will do with MHP3 imo.

On the other hand, Nintendo secured DQIX for DS. Sony couldn't, what makes you so sure they can hold on to MoHun now?

Nothing is certain. I admit that. I just can't see Sony letting MHP3 to switch platform as it is more important game for PSP in japan than any other game is for any other console. Capcom is also probably more than pleased with sales of MHP on PSP so without moneyhatting I don't see them switching platform. Maybe MHP3 will be multiplat. I don't think that Sony will go with high spec hardware route with PSP2 after PS3 disaster.

Well, I'd agree that from Sony's perspective, MHP3 is basically essential. PSP2 losing MH3 would be comparable to N64 losing FF7, it'd basically debilitate the platform from day one. My only question is if they can really out-offer Nintendo, who's the likely favorite for market leader next gen. From Nintendo's perspective too, nabbing MH completely for their platforms alone (like they did for DQ) seems like a pretty likely goal. The rumors going now are that both Nintendo and Sony are actively pushing for 3rd party DS2/PSP2 exclusives, and I'd imagine MH3 would be near the top of both their lists.
From Capcom's perspective, I think they'll just go with whoever throws out the better deal. It's going to take a moneyhat regardless of who they go with though, they fully understand that Nintendo wants them and that Sony needs them.
