He's turned into a hideous monster who doesn't even think of salvation anymore, and his whole existence is summed up in his search for vengeance. That's really all there is. if that qualifies as a plothole....then there's a plothole. And I guess we just looked at the myths differently, because out of all the pantheons I know, the Greeks are easily the biggest jerk. Every single major character has origins traced back to the gods acting like jerks. |
pft, try the Sumerian/Babylonian gods.
They created the humans of their patron cities soley as slaves to fight wars and do great works in their names... and their reward for this? A grim shadowy relm prison realm of complete darkness where people were clothed only in clothes. Ate nothing but dirt and were forced to crawl to move anywhere...
Oh, and this afterlife wasn't even eternal... eventually your soul would fade away into nothingness. This is for everybody.
The greek gods all have their moments of giving cruel fates to someone who cross them... though it is for people who cross them and not just innocent people, but also all have their moments of greatly rewarding people who do things the right way. If properly characterized, the greek gods would of came through for Kratos in GoW1.
Well if properly characterized Kratos would of never went after Ares since there isn't anything Ares loves more then his soldiers... and he totally wouldn't of let the events that created the gamehappen in the first place. Ares wasn't evil.
