The notion that adding the requirement that a code base function more or less equivalently on multiple platforms involves no technical or design trade-offs is naive at best.

This is so true that i wonder if this journalist/opinionist is more ignorant or fanboyst.

Moreover he doesn't even consider what really those "idiots" are addressing: development delays and cut out contents. He is the real idiot (or the fanboyst).

Have you ever created anything in your life? Or do you just whine about things other people create?

There is this thing called editing. You know, like when you DON'T USE EVERYTHING YOU COME UP WITH. Things are left on the cuttingroom floor all the time and if you think that things would have been different if the 360 wasn't involved then you really need to leave your basement more often. All SE employees have said is that content was left out of the final product. There has never, ever been a time when content was not left out of a final product. Ever.

By the way, good job trying to blame Microsoft for the delay. As if Square Enix never delays anything.

6 Feb 2009 ... Square Enix Delays Financial Results, Stock Hits Five-Year Low, Investors could be pulling out due to fears of game delays.

They can't even put out their books on time. Get a grip.

I didn't say that SE left out contents because of the xbox360, I said that people complain about that while this article is all about gameplay and graphics. So who wrote that article is plain silly or just a flamer. Moreover why a company, that has some financial problem (like many others these days), should lessen its profits by adding one more dvd (== more royalties to microsoft and production costs)?

Your point could in fact explain why SE should have reduced the contents.
