Video games used to be played with joysticks until Nintendo established the d-pad as new standard. By your logic, the Master System and TG-16 controllers weren't copies of the NES controller. |
or the NES controller was copy's of missile control simulator's from the airforce durring the late 60's and early 70's
so it's pretty Moot.
they are imput devices. there is a reason they are designed so close to each other.
the concept's were not that far an away from the same IDEA's many people had.
the automobile has 4 wheel's, but than for some truck's they added more wheel's the basic design concept's is still at root the same
example:
1977 - Nintendo developed home-use video games in cooperation with Mitsubishi Electric.
1983 - Nintendo started selling the home video game console "Family Computer" employing a custom CPU and PPU (Picture Processing Unit).
even when they released those system the conttrol's had already taken cue from other analog control system's made before they were released.
All the companies did.
just because your first does not mean someone else was not working on the problem also at the same time. In R&D the development are solution's to problem's that need to be fixed. quite often many people are working on the same problem at the same time. double blind if you will. you may not know what they are working on.
