| RolStoppable said: @joeorc If you read the article in the link I posted, it becomes pretty obvious that Sony and Microsoft could not have made the Wii, just for the fact alone that they weren't even interested in making it (what all their public jabs at the Wii prove). Move wouldn't exist without the Wii. Wii Tennis and Bowling aren't just Tennis and Bowling, it's Tennis and Bowling in a completely new way, hence the excitement from customers making Wii Sports the equivalent of the NES game Super Mario Bros.. Also, I've read through the article again and it is actually related to your thread. Its addendum has a quote from a Sega representative being concerned about Nintendo because they could the market dynamics with their rumored motion controller. That was in the year 2000. |
not true at All:
R&D at Sony was very interested at Sony in making the motion controll's, but the Ceo's who made the call to wait to see how the Wii did.
that's as plain as day, just because the people over at Nintendo went ahead and did it does not mean the very concept was copied, it just mean's they who were in charge did not think it was that viable.
That in no way mean's that Sony in this case did not have the know how or the technology to do what the control technology of the Wii does. or that Sony did not already have something like the Wii control concept already, which they @ Sony did indeed have.
think about it from the perspective.
Sony releases the EYETOY but no 3rd party make's software for it. of course they are going to have some reservation's getting the CEO's to change their opinion of Motion controll's
