...Well...Considering that 7 out of the top 10 selling PS3 games are shooters, and that everyone was/is fapping to Uncharted 2, KZ2, MAG, and Socom 4, and also that some of the most highly regarded shooters - BFBC2, MW2, Bioshock2, Medal of Honor, etc - are all multiplatform, I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say this. Even ratchet and clank is a platforming shooter, lol.

MGS4 is an action game.
Also those multiplats all seem to sell better on the xbox. thus xbox= shooter. and what are the only games xbox are know for? halo and gears. shooters. lol

Well, good thing i didn't mention MGS 4.
Uncharted is an action game, but that doesn't mean it's not a shooter.
It has competitive multiplayer shooting modes and a variety of guns.
Not swords, maces, spears; guns.
Try playing the game without firing a single bullet.
Shooter.
There are heavy platforming elements, but there is enough emphasis on guns to make it a shooter.
If U2 is not a shooter than Gears 2 is not a shooter

All gears has is shooting though. There is no sneaking, there is no platforming. There is no climbing. I was joking about Uncharted 2 btw.

Also the gears 2 DLC does have stealth elements at the very least, but I get your point.
