Final Fantasy XIII better than Final Fantasy XII?

If I get this game and hate the battle system, I'll buy a copy of Dot Heroes and make a video of me breaking it in half while you watch in agony!!

My big thing with RPGs is I like to have control over my actions, which is why I like the trun-base system and why I consider XII an abomination to the FF series.

I got admit, I'm considering giving FF another chance after readind some people's comments.
