There is also Mellow Yellow and Mountain Dew, Sprite and Siera Mist, Sunkist and Slice etc. Every time one makes a new product, the other needs to match it with something similar to shore up their product line and keep customers in their overall camp. Sometimes it takes a few years before there is a Mellow Yellow to counter Mountian Dew, but eventually it's more or less inevitable except for fail products (there was never a Crystal Coke, for instance). |
Actually, there was, it was called "Tab Clear."
Anyway, as far as the game quality is concerned, all they have to do is release a game that is going to be popular, and have a compelling option to use the Move with it. The fact that the PS3 has such a better delivery system for downloadable games could be a big advantage for them in terms of Wii-style casual games as well - e.g. rather than having a bunch of $30 minigame collections like the Wii you could just buy a bunch of $5-10 individual minigames off the PS Store.
