i don't think they need to ramp up production at all. it would be costly to them to ramp up production again and then they might find themselves with too many units just sitting around. obviously they are short this holiday season, but since they ramped up production to 1.8 they've been storing up units for the holidays. i think they were selling about 1.3 million per month this fall so they were saving half a million a month. i'm sure once the holidays are over 1.8million a month will be enough for the normal part of the year until they need to start saving up for next holiday season at which point next summer they may want to increase production again to like over 2 million if the wii is still selling as well as it is now just for the months through xmas to actually be able to meet the demand for xmas '08 unlike this year.

now that production is 1.8 million a month i really don't think wii's will be in short supply at all until next holiday season.

end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million
