Those two phone are being popular mostly in U.S because thanks to U.S Gov't put limitation on foreign phones imports. Ever wonder why after like 5 years the Razor still is the best thing in U.S market before iphone launched??? IF U.S gov't allow every single new phone produce from other countries into the U.S market I can assure you those Razor and Iphone will look like some kind of devices from the stone age. I can bet my money Soon Apple will have a new version of iphone that only add 3G support and apple fanatic will go out and buy it like its something amazingly out of this world invention. hahaha |
The US has no regulations on import phones v domestically produced phones. All phones have to pass FCC standards, and most do. There are better-cheaper phones (relative to the iphone) in the US, it's just that many VW-owning suburbanites, boomers, and yuppies love apple. Those phones don't make the news.
The perceived problem with cell service in the US isn't Gov't restrictions, it's the lack there of. Companies are allowed to sign exclusivity contracts and prevent customers using certain phones with other service companies. I personally don't s. I like freedom, so I don't see this as a problem. If a company, which is owned by people, wants to sign a contract they should be allowed to.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
