That's an issue, really?? That's probably the best idea to come out of Microsoft to come out in a while. One of the biggest problem is Microsoft has always released new versions built upon old code and old foundations. That makes it quite difficult to make revolutionary changes to an OS. Everyone hated Windows Vista, but that paved the way for a kick ass Windows 7 built on Vista's kernel.
As for anything being backwards compatibility, I don't really see it being an issue on Windows mobile phones. They didn't have a big enough market share and there weren't any large programs that business based their day to day operations on. People mostly used it for outlook exchange support and opening office files. Anything else was just a webapp that used IE Mobile.
OP: I'm glad Flash is being added. IMO, Apple is making a mistake by ignoring flash. There are too many developers who know flash who they are ignoring. Something MS would have do in the past haha.
